DEFINITION OF A RESUME
Resume is a written compilation of education, work experience, credentials, and accomplishments.
Purpose of the resume are:
1. To provide the background information.
2. For self advertisment.
Resume is important because it is used as the basis of consideration for the employers to decide whether or not you are suitable for the job.
The length of resume should be around 1 or 2 pages at max.
STRUCTURE OF RESUME
1. Sender's contact information.
2. Education background.
3. Work experience.
4. Additional informatin such as skill.
TYPES OF RESUME
1. Chronological Resume
Chronological Resume discribes the experience based on the order of time, from the newest to the oldest.
Example of a chronological resume:
• 2012- Present Head of English Department in Jakarta University.
• 2007-2011 English Lecturer in Jakarta University.
• 2003-2007 English Teacher in 27 Senior Highschool Jakarta.
The benefit on using Chronological Resume are:
> Familiarity.
> Easy to understand.
> To the point.
> Easy to make.
Use chronological resume if you have previous work experience. You'd better not use chronological resume if you don't have previous work experience.
2. Functional Resume
Functional Resume focuses on your skills and experience rather than chronological work history.
Who uses functional resume:
> People who are switching career
> People who are new in labor face
(+) Benefit of a functional resume:
It focuses on the applicant's skill, so it is good to use if you don't have previous work experience.
(-) Downside of a functional resume:
It is less common to use a functional resume when you apply for a job.

> Consider writing a resume summary
> Organized by theme
> Used keywords
> Mention relevant projects
